Kreeg een goed berichtje uit Noorwegen.

Geadviseerd wordt het gebied sogn & fjordane" en of "more & romsdal". Dit is Noorwegen op zijn best. Klik op het kaartje het gebied sogn & fjordane aan.

De Norwegian Sportscar Club deden soortgelijke triips in de Pentecost/whitsun periode (voor 2008 van 11 mei/15 juni)

We've done some trips with the club, but not exactly the kind of trip you want to do. But the Norwegian Sportscar Club have arranged some trips in the Pentecost/whitsun period. We work very closely with this club, and I can get all the info from their trips as well (hotels, roads etc).

To see some more spectacular parts of Norway, I would advise that you go a bit more up to the north-western parts of Norway, like "Sogn & Fjordane". Take a look at the english pages of www.fjords.com where there also is a map that shows the regions of that part of Norway (and some great photos as well). I would focus on the two countys called "sogn & fjordane" and "more & romsdal". You can also travel across the Dovre-mountains on the way up, beautiful landscape and great view.

Don't focus on the Oslo-Kristiansand route. I live in Oslo, and have a cabin just north of Kristiansand and it's not the same spectacular scenery that you can find further up in the north-west! Take a look at the pictures in the first link, and tell me if that is what you are looking for (and please pick out the ones that is most desireable).

Remember that most of the roads in Norway looks like this: http://nsk2.sesamdata.no/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=24301 Just so you don't overestimate the distance you can travel in one day. The speedlimits are usually 60-80 on these roads, and not to many safe places to overtake when you are driving in a large group. But a week's time (friday evening to the next sunday) should make a great trip!

So, just spread the links and the pictures on the forum, and see if people like my idea (similar trip to the "Pinsetur 2007" album).

volgens mij is ons nieuwe lid (VP BMWCC) een Noors heerschap, dus misschien kan hij uitleggen dat door fohneffecten het aan de oostkant van de bergen heel erg vaak mooi weer is, etc.

I can try to explain the fohneffect in English (my Dutch is not THAT good).

Often the wind will come from the west towards the western coast of Norway. The air will often have a high humidity (moist), and when forced up as it hits the rising mountains, the temperature will drop and the air will get close to 100% humidity = rain. When the air gets over the mountains and falls down on the other side, its temperature will rise again, but this time it will get even warmer. A basic rule is that moist air will get 0,6 C colder for each 100 height-meter it rises, but for dry air it is 1 C pr meter. Which is the same when the air falls down; it will rise with approx 1 C pr 100m of height downwards.

And because of the Gulf stream, the wind comes from the west most of the time, which is why it rains more in Bergen and the west side of Norway, than here in the eastern parts. :thumbup:

Bergen is sometimes referred to as "rain-city" in Norway.

It's not entirely translators btw, though I'm much better at reading Dutch than writing it myself!

Great! You can read Dutch!

During our holiday in Norway we discovered we could also "read" Norwegian ( :thumbup: ).

A lot of words look like Dutch or English, especially when you read whole sentences... strange feeling, but handy... ;)

I'm not an admin, I just happened to see your provocative name, clicked to see who this was and saw your real name. I do not snakke Bokmaal, but can understand and read it from spending too many months in another rainy city called Stavanger. In Oslo the weather (and the girl's looks) always seems to be a lot better. I knew what the fohneffect does and how it works, as I suspect most people do here, but perhaps many of them did not realize the big impact on the climat in Norway.
